I swear, I'm addicted to your singles. Your songs hold as high a standing to me as commercial ones. When will you have a Pop/Rock album for sale? I just can't get enough of these.

This song is amazing, and your work is, in general, is some of the best in the Portal. Still though there are a few things that can be improved upon. When it gets to the chorus, the midrange seems to get lost. I'd recommend lowering the drums, taking some of the bass out of the piano with an EQ (only on choruses), and bringing up the guitar and vocals. Also I felt that the backup vocals could be a bit tighter performance-wise, as the words get a bit rubbery. As for song writing, I think the arrangement of the instruments far surpasses even professional records. But the song seemed to lack a memorable hook. Also, you seem to cut off the end of your songs in post. It would be nice to let the last chord ring out until it decays naturally.
There's the improvements, here's the good stuff. Like I said, the arrangement of the piano and string synth is absolutely breathtaking. I can't stress enough how amazing it is. The vocals are unique and soothing, and work well with the phaser effect you have on them. The overall sound of the song is far above anything else in this portal and well above many mainstream recordings.
Anyway, I've been a fan of yours since the beginning and I'm loving this Pop/Rock side of you. Keep this up and you could get signed to a major label with no problems. I'm looking forward to that day.

I've been a fan of your classical work for a while, but I am REALLY digging this tune. I don't give 10/10's lightly, but this is most derserved. If I were to hear this on the radio, I'd be rushing to check out that CD. This is just incredible. The tune is memorable, and the overall sound is pleasing to the ears. I like the auto-tune in the voice. It gives it a haunting quality. My one and only complaint about this track is tht I felt the ending should've been bigger. But other than that, there is nothing to complain about. I'm watching you, man, and wishing the best for you. Mainstream needs more music like this.

I like it, but I think I still prefer the harder keys. Still an awesome track though. I don't know if I've said this before, but your chord progressions sound like they have a Koji Kondo vibe to me. Which is wonerful. Can't wait to hear more from you.

It's a shame it was so short. I bet it would sound all the better if you used a real keyboard output rather than just a midi piano. Anyway, I really like your chord progressions. Absolutely original and a pleasure to listen to. Keep up the great work.

I really like the backup vocals on the chorus. Very well produced. I have no idea what language it's in, but it's awesome nonetheless. Great job!

I love this song, I had no idea you made a cover. It sounds cool. A different tone to the numerous other covers. Great job.

Seriously, I think this is one of my favorites from you. Despite the sound quality, I think the acoustic and electric blend seemlessly. The lyrics are deep. You like sad things don't you? Like I'm any better. lol. Sad stuff is just easier to write about for some reason. Anyway, personally, I think this track deserves some platinum attention. I bet it would if Newgrounds would allow a bigger meg limit. Oh well. Summing it up, an awesome song, and a naitzmic favorite for me.

Congrats on the platinum. Well deserved I must say. Despite the mixing difficulties it comes through as a powerful and resounding song. I like the dissonance and resolve effect throughout. It gives a hauntingly beautiful melody.

A different sound. It kinda reminded me of the theme from that old show "Twin Peaks".
I think this would be awesome with some vocals. Got any lyrics in mind?
Author's Response:
Sorry, wasn't thinking about it at the time, I was sort of "inspired", if you catch my drift. I'll work on this a little bit and see if I cant get some lyrics, and maybe I'll get a buddy 'o mine to sing 'em (my voice ain't that great, its better for the gravely, demon-singing style). Thanks for the review!
